Well, here we are, halfway MOvember.
Just like last year, I will gladly be participating in Movember 2011. As every year men around the world will let their moustache grow during the month of November starting clean shaven to raise awareness for typical male illnesses, such as Testicular Cancer. But also to raise money for Cancer research. The donations in Holland will all go towards the NKI-AVL .
So please give freely, but this time I have a little incentive for you ;-)
When you make your donation here: http://www.mobro.co/basdenuijl you can indicate which Upperlip enhancement you think I should grow!
There are 4 models to choose from, and when you donate generously, please indicate your preference, let the MO with the most Mo Win (see what I did there ;-) )!
So, here are your choices:
Option 1:
"Stuck in the MOddle"
Option 2:
"Mulk Mogan"
Option 3
"Magnum Pie"
Option 4
"MOmez Adams"
Geef gul!
As we like to do on occasion, we settled for lunch at the Engelbewaarder, a firm family favorite in Amsterdam.
There often are really cool foto expositions and this time was no exception: Olifantenpaadjes, by Jan-Dirk van der Burg. The images are just so very cool and I love the concepts, people will find their own way and it is wonderful to see how people vote with their feet. A lot of people have to trod these paths, also before they are visible..... olifantenpaadjes (elephant paths, correct translation is desire paths/lines) are those weird shortcuts. Have a look at the fotos and you will recognize them instantly. The broader and more eroded the path, the more popular. Simple...
BTW, I always keep being reminded about how ants organise their trails: See for instance here: and here. Swarm intelligence at work
So, a consensus is reached by everyone simply using a more prefferable line through the landscape. Simply amazing. No discussions, no planning, it just happens.
See more (International) fotos here or have lunch at the Engelbewaarder and watch the exposition and play some pinball while you are there.
So, here we are on a pretty cool campside where there is horse riding every day and some cool places to visit, Biarritz and Bayonne for instance. And rugby everywhere! Great food, have now eaten every part of a duck I think.
So, all good ;-)
"A pilgrimage is a journey or search of great moral or spiritual significance. Typically, it is a journey to a shrine or other location of importance to a person's beliefs and faith. "
You see, only the teacher's pet would be sitting so close to the teacher's table, right?
I mean, the grades are fine and they appear to be friendly and well behaved (at school....).
